Monoprice Premium 5 1.4-Ch. Immersive Home Theater System with Subwoofer

You'll never experience ordinary listening with these reference-class headphones from Klipsch. The subwoofer is a bass-reflex with front-firing port, an 8” injected cone woofer, with a frequency range of 30Hz to 150Hz, rated at up to 200 watts @ THD ≤0.5%. Connections can be made using either the RCA stereo line level or in-line with the left and right front speakers using the speaker terminals on the rear of the subwoofer. There are several wall mounts on the monoprice site.

Make sure they're right before buying. The included sub with the 5.1 system is 8" with 60W amp. the 150W 12" will give you much bigger and deeper sound. We created a new SKU that includes the 12" instead of the 8". You will need an a/v reciever than can drive the speakers.

I was impressed with the quality, and the speakers accept bare wire or you could use banana connectors. The connectors do not come with the setup. These speakers DO NOT come with speaker wire. However, Monoprice sells speaker wire at very reasonable prices.

Have been extremely pleased with it. The clarity and just the sound itself have been amazing. Played with the blue ray player it sounds and feels like a movie theater. There are lots of good bookshelf speakers out there and even towers for under $300 a pair. Start with those and a $150 receiver. Then add a good sub (budget about $500 or more), and you will blow the doors off any home theater in a box.

You're better off taking one of your speakers to a hardware store and figuring out what fits there. I originally listened to the suggestions on here and ended up wasting money online for screws that didnt fit. They are not 1/4"-28, they are M6-1.0 x 25mm is what fit into the speakers perfectly. Yes you can, I've linked to the products you need.

The subwoofer needs to be plugged in. Since this is just a speaker system, you will need to connect it to a 5.1 receiver. So, you will need speaker wire, cable to connect the subwoofer etc.

It has 4 HDMI ports on the back, as well as just about any othe plug in or out you would need, including optical out, which I needed for my gaming headphones. Now I just have one HDMI cable going up to my TV, and everything else is plugged in through the receiver . The o ly weird thing is that sometimes after I plug my iPhone into the USB slot and play music, it won't switch back to HDMI 2 unless I turn the TV and the receiver off and then turn them back on.

Apparently the age-old sales method of price conditioning is alive and well at Monoprice I am a little disappointed this system didnt do better. Ive always been happy with monoprice, and the accessories they sell, but it sounds like their success doesnt translate well to budget sound systems. The results were about the same across all demos. Bass response from the subwoofer was decent, although occasionally a bit boomy.

I do not like the difference in sound levels between the normal level of speech and the action levels; the difference tends to be too loud . Also, the unit does interface perfectly with the Samsung "Anynet" system. So, at times I need to mess around with multiple remotes to get the sound to work. However, all in all, this is a very good system for the price. You may choose between two colors for the Sonos Arc soundbar to match the style of your home's decor.

From a 120 degrees sitting area the sound is great .The auto adjust feature worked perfectly. If you have the funds -this one is worth buying. It does not have a DVD player - you will need to purchase a streaming DVD player for $90 to really get the value of this upgrade. The bass frequency response will be altered if the ports are blocked or covered. No these speakers aren’t shielded, but the magnets aren’t nearly big enough to cause any problems with any nearby electronics that the speakers or subwoofer may be around. To install the insert, there is a nut holding the insert into the cabinet. On re-assembly I put a little thread lock on the insert so they wont get loose even for typical torque on the bolt into the speaker insert. The removal and install of the woofer to access the nut is straight forward. Ended up just skipping the pins and connecting directly with the wires.

Run them in phantom center mode, then buy a subwoofer, then the center. It might take longer but you will get a much better system this way they will last you for many, many years. The speaker system is about on par with speakers included in receiver/speaker bundles from Yamaha (YHT-497) or Denon (DHT-1312). You need at least a 5 channel amplifier to feed the satellites.

A pair of plastic feet to properly orient the face of the center speaker is also included. Note that you will need to provide your own hardware for mounting the C brackets to the wall or other vertical surface. The best 5.1 home theater system comes with a panel that allows users to control the volume, bass, and treble levels of their audio output. This feature makes sure that users get an immersive experience while they listen to music or watch movies in their living room or bedroom. Build your system - Add Sonos One SLs for surround sound or Sonos Sub for added bass. Connect to other Sonos speakers to enjoy brilliant sound in any or every room.

We had to buy a Y RCA adapter, which was inexpensive. No, they are designed to be used with the 1/4" threaded hole. If your question is about more than one item, click + to add them. Over all a good sounding system, especially for "home theater in a box" . Not quite good enough for my delicate ears, but then a lot of things aren't. I installed this in a customer's home to replace a defective HTIB system and he was blown away.
